Daily Press Clips – Feb 23
Added Feb 23, 2012, Under: Daily Press Clips,News
  • After a long, drawn-out battle, Dr. Neuhaus, a colleague of Dr. George Tiller, has been stripped of her medical license by the state of Kansas. Trust Women Founder and Director Julie Burkhart spoke out against the decision.
  • Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has backed off of his previously enthusiastic support for the bill requiring trans-vaginal ultrasounds for women seeking abortions. The bill passed the Virginia state senate, but the Governor now promises to review the measure rather than immediately sign it into law as planned.
  • As the power of anti-choice Crisis Pregnancy Centers expands, critics are raising questions about their practices.
  • Democrats will hold a hearing on birth control today on Capitol Hill with just one person called to testify: Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student who would have been the only woman on the all-male panel on birth control recently convened by Republicans, who was denied the right to speak.
